#NEWSOCRACY Madrid has ended

#NEWSOCRACY brings together policy makers, academics, journalists, citizens and existing initiatives for transparency of media ownership structures to discuss media ownership concentration in Spain - and Europe. The event is hosted by the ECPMF, PDLI and OBCT.

Yolanda is a journalist and researcher on social movements and their relation to the Internet and the media.

Degree in Information Sciences (Journalism) from Complutense University (UCM), MsC in Public Opinion from Complutense University (UCM), Postgraduate Degree in Online Communication from Barcelona University (UAB) and PhD candidate in Journalism at UCM.

Author of books including “Society, Consumers and Mass Media” (1996), “Cyberactivism: The New Revolutions of Connected Mobs” (2012) and “Cyberwar” (2016)

She lectures at several Masters about cyberactivism and political communication.

She usually speaks at conferences, symposia, and seminars on journalism, cyberactivism, Internet and digital rights, and Freedom of Expression.

Writes as freelance journalist on privacy, hacktivism, security and digital rights.

Radio and television contributor on these issues.

She is General Secretary, Executive Coordinator and co-founder of the PDLI.
